Common Settings for Display, AddToCart, Status, Etc.

Admin/Configuration/Setting:
URL Alias: Set to yes to enable. This will allow friendly URLs. (Explained More in SEO)
Template: Set to default or whatever your template folder is named
Language: Set your default language. If not English, a language pack will have to be built first.
Image: Here you set default image size
There are settings for image size and enable/disable AddToCart for Product, Category, & Search Pages.
Product page has image size settings for additional images as well.
Search page has setting for maximum results returned from a search. Zero sets to unlimited.

Admin/Configuration/Maintenance:
Maintenance has only Status setting. You want disabled unless you are shutting down for some reason.

Extensions/Module:
Category Options: This has settings for Number of columns to display and display lock status if you don't want user to change display.
Featured: Setting for AddToCart, number of items to display, number of columns, image size, and display lock status.
Latest: Setting for AddToCart, number of items to display, Total number of products, number of columns, image size, and display lock status.
Manufacturer: Setting for AddToCart, image size, number of columns, and display lock status.
Popular: Setting for AddToCart, number of items to display, Total number of products, and image size.
Related: Setting for AddToCart, number of items to display, and image size.
Search Options: Settings for Number of columns to display and display lock status.
Specials: Setting for AddToCart, number of items to display, and image size.
