Category Deletion

There appears to be a nasty bug with the category deletion. I deleted 2 categories - Latest and Special - and it took out a number of my other categories too. As luck would have it I backed up my database on monday so should be able to recover most of my work.

Please check your database. Have the categories been deleted there as well?

I have the database with the deleted categories but in the meantime I have loaded the old database back in. Trouble is the lost categories had various sub categories with products in. I have redone my lost work now though. Is there a solution to this now as I still want to either delete or hide some categories?

Can you recreate this issue? I personally cannot. Please, retest it.

I have the database if you want it. I don't really want to disrupt my live site again.

I will create a test site, which I should have done before now, and run tests on it with regard to the above.
