Integrating AlegroCart into an existing website?

Hi, I want to integrate a shopping cart into my existing website, can this be done or do have to ditch my existing site and start again?

If your home page is installed e.g. the public_html directory, then install alegrocart into a subdirectory, like /shop.
So that, you can reach your home page at www.yourdomain.com and your shop at www.yourdomain.com/shop. Add a button to your homepage that leaves to your shop and vica versa.
