Search feature

Post by Delpfine » Sun Jul 14, 2013 8:47 am

I must have removed something that controls the search feature early on. I can't find which file that might be. I've looked through everything and have compared it with the initial files that I downloaded, but still can't figure it out.

What do I need to do to get the search feature back on my site?

Thanks!!

The search module is turned on in admin.

I found in admin > templates that I can add it to the top header or extras. If I add it to extras, it overlays my navigation. If I add it to the top header, it doesn't display. It's probably underneath something. What are the files where I can control it's placement? Thanks.

As I see you could add the search box to the header. Its position can be modified if you play with your blue.css file.

I am having trouble getting the search text box and the button to line up. There's a difference between FF and IE, so that when I get it lining up in FF, it's not in IE. I've looked at all the css files, tested all the padding and margin entries, but can't figure it out. I've spent hours on this. So, time to ask the experts.

I just tested on the demo. The verticle postion seems the same, but the horizontal is not.
When FF lines up properly, IE does not. It appears IE is using extra padding.

It is the compatibilty mode in IE. Click it off and it will display fine.
