hi guys,
I tried the changes. when I edited the htaccess file the browser could not see the shop.
So I ammended the script:-

first change........
php_value upload_max_filesize = 128M
php_value post_max_size = 256M

second change........
php_value upload_max_filesize = 128M;
php_value post_max_size = 256M;

neither worked the shop was not recognized.

I also edited the php.ini file

upload_max_filesize = 128M
post_max_size = 256M

It attempted to load but timed out

I appreciate your time on this matter.

I will contact my Web host and ask the question with regards to upload limits.
best regards

mike

Hi Guys,
Thank you once again for your fantastic support. I will describe here what we have done so other members can follow the same procedure should they have a similar problem.

uploaded a small file with the same name and type as the file you wish to be downloadable. in the alegrocart admin download.
using ftp upload the required file to the download folder on your ISP's server overwriting the file previously uploaded. same name and extension type.
job done.

It now works.

If you are ever in Australia I will get you a few beers.

Best Regards

Mike

Hi Guys,
I have been running alegro cart now for a few years and it is working well. So I have decided to set up another e shop.

all's well apart from the download, I can see in the latest version there is a dedicated engine for this but I am expiriencing some problems.

When insert a download item, I brows for my files on my local PC to upload the download file, name defaults to c and not the selected file name. This happens every time.

If i leave it as c it all works. but I want to have multiple download products.

So I have tried renaming the c via FTP on the host server the file renames. when I then look for the file name in elegro cart the name has changed.

when I confirm the order the download file is still named c so nothing is down loaded.

If you are able to advise it would be helpful.

Regards

Mike

What browser are you using?
What is AC version number? As far as I remember this was fixed in the last release.

Is it on localhost or on a public server?
It is a windows related issue. As far as I remember I have a computer in my office running win, so I can test it.

I managed to test it on windows, FF48 and it worked fine.
What FF version have you installed?
Do you have javascript enabled?
What is the name of the file you wanted to upload?

PS: re-upload the files, may be one of them is corrupt.
