There are instructions
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=80
If your using zone shipping, you can set up a geo-zone for canada if you like, or use what ever geo-zone your using now.
If you want one entry for the whole country, when you insert entry, select canada for country and all zones.
Same as US, only Canada as the country.

Hello guys,
Wondering if it was possible for shipping to be free at a predetermined dollar amount spent ?

Yes it is possible. It would have to be added to a module.
What shipping method are you using.

Wondering what the resolution was for this. I want to do the same thing -- free over $20 and a flat rate ($3) for under $20. Thanks!

That has been added to the zone shipping and flat rate as well. The are boxes the set up free shipping points in most of the manual shipping methods. This was an old post before these features were added.

I have three geozones: US, Canada and Mexico, and other countries. It is working fine for Canada and Mexico. But for the US, I have it set up to be free only over $20. Otherwise it's $3. However, it's always coming out as free.
I am also getting error messages for the library > cart > shipping.php at line 69 for an undefined index.
