I added several new products last night. Now when I try to update them the screen is blank when I click on the update button for an individual product. I also get the blank screen when I clicked on Image from Catalog on the menu bar. The images were ftp'd over.

In admin, go to image. When you do this, the image program will add the new images to the database.
When you FTP images, the are not added to the database.

The problem is, that when I go to Image in Admin, I get a blank screen. Also, no matter what product I click on to update, whether it's one I just added or an older one, I get a blank screen.

Go to Configuration/Setting/Error handling tab and enable error handling.
Please, check the apache log file as well, if you have access to it.
Let us know the error messages.

There's nothing in the error_log.

Logging in fresh this morning, I was able to initially access Image. I paged through the 12 pages of images and got the blank screen when I got to the page with the new photos that I uploaded. Once I get that I can't access Images anymore.

Any of the Products page are still blank when I try to update them.

As a test, I just removed all the photos that I uploaded via FTP. Now I can access Image and Product update.

I don't see anything wrong with the photos, though. Their size is about the same as all my other photos.

Check the name of the images as well. Any not permitted characters?

I've been able to insert all my images except for one. It was <300KB and about 1988 px on each side. When I resized it to 90% of that size, it uploaded ok. It's now 1778 x 1778 px and 228 KB.

If you are using another language, switch to english and see if it changes. If it does, You need to edit the items in English to add in a name for the product in your alternate language.
